Green Schoolyards
Initiative to work with schools across the state to create outdoor learning, play and exploration spaces on school grounds. Spaces can include everything from gardens to nature play to outdoor classrooms. As an organization we place a high importance on these spaces including on incorporating many natural elements, including: extensive use of native plants, green stormwater infrastructure, and a diminished use of hardscaping.
A key equity component of this work is to encourage schools to open the spaces to community members to use as a park outside of school hours.
